Terms of Service

The short version: Use Owvio to plan your debt payoff. Don't misuse it. Pay your subscription if you subscribe. We're a planning tool, not financial advisors. Be excellent.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Owvio at owvio.app ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users, including free trial users and paying subscribers.

2. Description of service

Owvio is a personal debt visualization and planning tool. It allows you to manually enter your debt information (balances, interest rates, minimum payments), calculate payoff projections using debt avalanche and snowball methods, view your estimated debt-free date, and access AI-powered coaching features.

Important: Owvio is a planning and visualization tool, not a licensed financial advisor. Nothing in Owvio constitutes financial, legal, or investment advice. Always consult a qualified financial professional before making significant financial decisions.

3. Accounts and eligibility

To use Owvio, you must:

Be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction)
Provide accurate and complete information when creating your account
Maintain the security of your password and not share account access
Notify us immediately at [email protected] of any unauthorized use of your account

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Free trial

Owvio offers a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. No credit card is required to start the trial. At the end of the trial period, continued access to paid features requires a subscription. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the free trial offer at any time.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Owvio offers the following subscription plans:

Monthly: $7.99 USD per month, billed monthly
Annual: $59.99 USD per year, billed annually

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. All payments are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.

Prices are in USD. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

6. Cancellation and refunds

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by emailing [email protected]. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until that date.

Refunds: We offer refunds within 7 days of initial payment for first-time subscribers who have not made extensive use of the service. To request a refund, email [email protected] within 7 days of your charge. Refunds are at our discretion for renewals.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use Owvio for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any regulations
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
Use the Service to transmit spam, malware, or harmful content
Resell or commercially exploit the Service without written permission
Impersonate any person or entity
Share your account credentials with others

8. Your data and content

You own all debt information and data you enter into Owvio. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you, including sending your debt data to our AI provider (Anthropic) for coaching features.

You can export or delete your data at any time. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your data.

9. AI features disclaimer

Owvio's AI coaching features (including Smart Insights, Debt Coach, and What-If Simulator) are powered by Anthropic's Claude AI. These features provide general planning assistance based on the data you enter. AI-generated content:

May not always be accurate or complete
Does not constitute professional financial advice
Should not be your sole basis for financial decisions
Is generated by an AI system and may occasionally produce errors

10. Intellectual property

Owvio, including its design, code, branding, and content (excluding your personal data), is owned by Apurv Gedam and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works of any part of the Service without written permission.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT PROJECTIONS AND CALCULATIONS WILL BE ACCURATE. DEBT PAYOFF PROJECTIONS ARE ESTIMATES BASED ON THE DATA YOU ENTER AND ASSUME CONSISTENT PAYMENTS AND INTEREST RATES.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OWVIO AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO FINANCIAL LOSSES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

13. Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.

14. Changes to terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice within the Service. Your continued use of Owvio after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may request a copy of your data before termination takes effect.
