The short version: We collect only what we need to run Owvio. We never sell your data. We never link to your bank. Your debt information is encrypted and visible only to you.

4. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure (PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS). We implement row-level security, which means your data is cryptographically accessible only to your own account. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

No security system is perfect, but we take reasonable technical measures to protect your information and will notify you promptly if we become aware of a breach affecting your data.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers who help us operate Owvio:

6. AI features and third-party AI processing

Owvio's AI coaching features (Smart Insights, Debt Coach, What-If Simulator) send your debt data — balances, interest rates, and payment information — to Anthropic's Claude API to generate personalized responses. This data is used only to generate your response and is subject to Anthropic's privacy policy. We do not send your name, email, or personally identifying information with these requests.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and maintain your session. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking cookies for third-party ad targeting. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so will prevent you from staying logged into Owvio.

9. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will permanently delete your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., billing records, which Stripe retains per their legal obligations).

Owvio is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at [email protected].

If you are located in Canada, you have rights under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You may request access to your personal information and correction of inaccuracies by contacting us at [email protected].

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on Owvio. Continued use of Owvio after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
